Earthquake With Magnitude Of 4.0 Hits Accra, Ghana (Video)

A moderate earthquake struck in some parts of Accra in Ghana at around 11pm on Wednesday, June 24.

According to reports from the United States Geological Survey, the quake reached magnitude 4.0, making it one of the strongest earthquakes in Ghana in years.

The tremor occured three times in the space of 10 minutes, causing tension among residents in Accra. A footage of the incident was also captured by CCTV in someone’s house.

Some of the areas the tremor hit include; Gbawe, McCarthy Hill, Kaneshie, Tesano, Dansoman, Dunkanaa, Lapaz, Achimota, Santa Maria, Adenta, Weija, Madina, Kwabenya, East Legon, Nsawam, Koforidua, Swedru, Dodowa, Tema among others.

Back in 2019, Ghana experienced two earth tremors and one in 2018. These tremors were recorded in Accra, the capital.
